Expectations
Clothing Requirements:
Please ensure that your child is prepared with proper clothing and SNEAKERS on days that he or she has physical education.
Water:
Students are encouraged to bring plastic water bottles to class. Please ensure that water bottles are labeled with student names to minimize the possibility of them getting lost or mistaken.
Injury/Excuses:
If your child is unable to participate in PE due to injury or illness, he or she needs to come to class with a written note of excuse. If your child cannot participate for more than two classes, a doctor's note should be forwarded to the school nurse.
Student Expectations:
Students will be expected to:
- Work alone, with partners, and in small groups cooperatively.
- Create and work in a safe environment for themselves and others.
- Practice all skills/activities to the best of their ability.
- Be respectful of themselves, others, and the environment. -
- Display appropriate behavior/conduct in a physical activity setting.
Grading:
Students will be graded on:
- Participation and work effort.
- Behavior, cooperation, and attitude.
- Various skill and written assessments.
Physical Education National Content Standards
A physically educated student:
1. Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
2. Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activity.

Physical Education Curriculum at CFB
Each year your child will develop skills and knowledge in three major physical education content areas: manipulative skills/games, creative-expressive movement/dance, and gymnastics. In addition, wellness, fitness, and social skills concepts will be incorporated.
